“From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus … Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Galatians 6:17; Romans 8:35-39).
Revelation knowledge of your covenant relationship with God coupled with its privileges is your greatest asset over your adversaries. This is rooted in Intimacy with God through His word; qualitative fellowship; and communion with the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul grasped this truth and thus maximised it to win all the battles he faced relative to accomplishing his assignment from God.
Paul understood, as a blood-bought, blood-washed, spirit-filled believer in Christ Jesus, that he was covered with the marks of Jesus Christ, and thus boldly declared it. He understood that the marks of Christ on his life are reflected in the character and fruit of the Holy Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23, AMP).
Paul recognised that the marks of Christ on his life empowered him with unusual boldness and also entitled him to enjoy God’s protection, healing, deliverance, success, and victory time and time again. Regardless of his circumstances, Paul walked in dominion all the time, never caving in to any of the assaults of his enemies. At the end of his race on earth, Paul could boldly say, “I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith [firmly guarding the gospel against error]. In the future there is reserved for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and longed for and welcomed His appearing” (2 Timothy 4: 7-8, AMP)..
Like Paul, we need to guard our relationship with God seriously and not cave in to the sinister plots of Satan to destroy that relationship. We need to embrace God’s word, presence, and communion with the Holy Spirit with a new passion and commitment. Let us be so persuaded about our covenant relationship with God coupled with its privileges that we can use it to win every battle that faces us in life and fulfil God’s plans for our lives, while also bringing Him the glory all the way.
Be persuaded, if you are a believer, that “neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord … in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:38-39, 37).
